Ingredients:
1 can of black beans,
1/2 cup cooked quinoa
1/2 cup finely chopped onion
1/2 cup finely chopped mushrooms
1/2 cup panko breadcrumbs
1 egg
1 tsp ground cumin
1 tsp chili powder
1/2 tsp garlic powder
Salt and pepper, to taste
4 hamburger buns
Lettuce leaves
Sliced tomato
Sliced avocado
Sliced onion
Mayonnaise
Instructions:
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
In a large mixing bowl, mash the black beans with a fork or potato masher.
Add the cooked quinoa, chopped onion, chopped mushrooms, breadcrumbs, egg, cumin, chili powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper to the bowl. Mix well.
Shape the mixture into 4 patties.
Bake for 10-12 minutes on each side, or until browned and crispy.
While the patties are cooking, prepare the burger toppings.
Toast the hamburger buns.
Assemble the burgers by placing a lettuce leaf, a slice of tomato, a slice of avocado, and a slice of onion on the bottom half of each bun. Top with a cooked black bean patty and a dollop of mayonnaise.
You can also add your favorite toppings, such as cheese, pickles, or hot sauce, to this vegetarian burger recipe to make it your own Anda Shami burger. Enjoy!
