Lahori Qeema Kachori




Ingredients:

For the dough:

  • All-purpose flour (maida) - 500g
  • Oil - 1/2 cup
  • Salt - to taste
  • Water - as required

For the filling:

  • Minced meat (qeema) - 400g
  • Onion (pyaaz) - 1, finely chopped
  • Ginger-garlic paste - 1 tbsp
  • Red chili powder - 1 tsp
  • Coriander powder - 1 tsp
  • Cumin powder - 1 tsp
  • Salt - to taste
  • Oil - 2 tbsp

For frying: Oil - as required

Instructions:

  1. combine the flour, oil, and salt. Gradually add water and knead into a smooth and pliable dough. Cover and set aside for 30 minutes.
  2. In a pan, heat oil and sauté the onions until they turn translucent. Add the ginger-garlic paste and cook for a few mints
  3. Add the minced meat and cook until it turns brown. Add the all powders red chili powder, coriander powder, cumin powder, and salt. Cook for another 5-7 minutes until the mixture is well combined and the meat is cooked through.
  4. let the mixture cool.
  5. Divide the dough into equal-sized balls and roll them into thin circles.
  6. Place 1-2 tablespoons of the filling in the center of each dough circle and bring the edges together to form a ball.
  7. Gently flatten the balls and roll them into circles again.
  8. Heat oil in a pan and fry the kachoris until they turn golden brown.
  9. Serve hot with mint and imli chutney
