Lahori Qeema Kachori
Ingredients:
For the dough:
- All-purpose flour (maida) - 500g
- Oil - 1/2 cup
- Salt - to taste
- Water - as required
For the filling:
- Minced meat (qeema) - 400g
- Onion (pyaaz) - 1, finely chopped
- Ginger-garlic paste - 1 tbsp
- Red chili powder - 1 tsp
- Coriander powder - 1 tsp
- Cumin powder - 1 tsp
- Salt - to taste
- Oil - 2 tbsp
For frying: Oil - as required
Instructions:
- combine the flour, oil, and salt. Gradually add water and knead into a smooth and pliable dough. Cover and set aside for 30 minutes.
- In a pan, heat oil and sauté the onions until they turn translucent. Add the ginger-garlic paste and cook for a few mints
- Add the minced meat and cook until it turns brown. Add the all powders red chili powder, coriander powder, cumin powder, and salt. Cook for another 5-7 minutes until the mixture is well combined and the meat is cooked through.
- let the mixture cool.
- Divide the dough into equal-sized balls and roll them into thin circles.
- Place 1-2 tablespoons of the filling in the center of each dough circle and bring the edges together to form a ball.
- Gently flatten the balls and roll them into circles again.
- Heat oil in a pan and fry the kachoris until they turn golden brown.
- Serve hot with mint and imli chutney
