Korean Cheese Corn Dog:
- Dough Ingredients:
- 150g bread flour (can use plain flour)
- 50g rice flour (can use plain flour)
- 30g sugar
- 4g salt
- 4g instant dry yeast
- 1 room-temperature egg (50g)
- 100ml warm water
- Ingredients:
- 3 sausages (12cm)
- Mozzarella cheese
- 5 wooden skewers
- Toppings:
- Bread crumbs
- 1 potato (145g) + 1 tbsp cornstarch (2 toppings)
- Half instant ramen noodle (3 toppings)
- Sugar
- Ketchup
- Mustard
- Instructions:
- In a mixing bowl, combine the bread flour, rice flour, sugar, salt, and instant dry yeast. Mix well.
- Add the egg and warm water to the bowl. Mix the dough comes together and form a ball.
- rest the dough for 10-15 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic.
- Cover the dough with a damp cloth and let it rest for 1 hour in a warm place until it doubles in size.
- Once the dough has risen, divide it into 5 portions and roll each portion into a long strip.
- Skewer the sausages on wooden skewers and wrap each sausage with mozzarella cheese.
- Coat each sausage with one of the following toppings: bread crumbs, mashed potato mixed with cornstarch, or half of an instant ramen noodle brick.
- Wrap each coated sausage with a strip of dough, making sure to cover it completely.
- Heat oil in a deep frying medium heat. Once hot, carefully place the corn dogs in the oil and fry until golden brown on all sides.
- Remove from the oil.
- Serve hot with ketchup and mustard on the side for dipping.
