Beef Shami Kabab:



Ingredients:

  • 500g beef mince
  • 1 cup chana daal (split Bengal gram)
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 4-5 garlic cloves, chopped
  • 2-3 green chillies, chopped
  • 1 inch piece of ginger, chopped
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1 tsp coriander seeds
  • 1 tsp garam masala powder
  • 1 tsp red chilli powder
  • 1 tsp turmeric powder
  • Salt, to taste
  • Oil, for frying
  • Lemon wedges, for serving

Instructions:

  1. Rinse and soak the chana daal for at least 2 hours.

  2. In a pressure cooker, add the soaked chana daal, beef mince, chopped onion, garlic, green chillies, ginger, cumin seeds, coriander seeds, garam masala powder, red chilli powder, turmeric powder, and salt. Add enough water to cover everything and pressure cook for 3-4 whistles.

  3. Once the pressure has released naturally, open the cooker and mix everything well.

  4. Transfer the mixture to a mixing bowl and let it cool down a bit.

  5. Once it has cooled down, use a hand blender or food processor to blend everything into a fine paste.

  6. Divide the mixture into equal sized portions and shape them into round kababs.

  7. Heat oil in a frying pan and shallow fry the kababs until golden brown on both sides.

  8. Serve hot with lemon wedges.
