assalamualaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatahu
Welcome to my Kitchen, I am Chef Tooba.
And today I am here with a very delicious recipe for..
Dahi Bhalle (Dahi Bara)
Ingredients:
For Bhalle:
- 1 cup urad dal (black gram)
- 1 teaspoon ginger paste
- 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
- 1 teaspoon red chili powder
- Salt to taste
- Oil for frying
For Dahi:
- 2 cups plain yogurt
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/2 teaspoon cumin powder
- 1/2 teaspoon red chili powder
- Salt to taste
For Garnishing:
- Tamarind chutney
- Mint chutney
- Chaat masala
- Roasted cumin powder
- Chopped cilantro
Instructions:
Wash and soak the urad dal for at least 4 hours or overnight.
Drain the soaked dal and grind it to a smooth paste using a food processor or blender. Add ginger paste, cumin seeds, red chili powder, and salt to the dal batter and mix well.
Heat oil in a deep frying pan. Take a small portion of the dal batter and drop it into the hot oil using a spoon. Fry the bhalle on medium heat until golden brown. Remove the bhalle from the oil and place them on a paper towel to remove excess oil.
In a bowl, whisk the yogurt until smooth. Add water, cumin powder, red chili powder, and salt to the yogurt and mix well.
Dip the fried bhalle in the prepared yogurt mixture and let them soak for a few minutes.
Place the soaked bhalle in a serving dish and top them with tamarind chutney, mint chutney, chaat masala, roasted cumin powder, and chopped cilantro.
Serve chilled and enjoy your delicious Dahi Bhalle, Lahori style!
Note: You can also add boiled potatoes, chopped onions, and sev (crispy chickpea noodles) as additional toppings.
