Fried PRAWN Shrimp TEMPURA Recipe
Here's a simple recipe for fried shrimp tempura that you can try at home:
Ingredients:
- 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 egg
- 1 cup ice-cold water
- Vegetable oil, for frying
- Tempura dipping sauce
Instructions:
Heat the vegetable oil in a deep pan or fryer to 375°F.
In a large bowl, mix together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
In another bowl, whisk the egg and ice-cold water together.
Add the wet mixture to the dry mixture and mix until smooth. Do not over-mix. It's okay if there are lumps in the batter.
Dip each shrimp in the batter and gently place it in the hot oil. Fry the shrimp until golden brown, about 2 minutes.
Use a slotted spoon to remove the shrimp from the oil and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain off excess oil.
Serve the fried shrimp tempura hot with the dipping sauce.
